SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS
Since INDAS brought up
the first incontinence pad for adults, onto the pharmaceutical Spanish
market, we had the determination to improve the life quality of
the incontinent patients, not only with products, but informing
about this ailment, and its solutions.
|
| The
best way we had to offer this information, was through the edition
of several publications, addressed to the professionals in relation
with these patients, in order to contribute to its better formation
in this specific field of the urinary incontinence.
Our first publication, "Approach to the Urinary Incontinence",
was published in 1989. This publication, addressed to "Family
Doctors", was a great success among these sanitary professionals,
and INDAS offered 10,000 copies to this specific group of professionals
of the sanitary sector.
At the same time, we considered that the urologist should have a
reference book, with all the knowledge of the most highly regarded
professionals in the field of the urinary incontinence, as well
as in the field of the surgical techniques applied in those cases
in which surgery is the solution for the problem. Thus, in 1990,
we were able to compile the knowledge of 32 authors, in a publication
which was the most complete published in Spain in which name was
"Incontinencia Urinaria: Conceptos actuales". This book,
with more than 500 pages, it has been distributed among 5,000 specialists,
urologist, gynecologists, neurologists, etc, working with the treatment
of urinary incontinence.
It was left to know in a deeper way an important group of the population
who was very interested in getting to know more about the urinary
incontinence: the patient. For this reason, we published our last
works: "Information, solutions and advice in Urinary Incontinence"
and "Light Incontinence: A problem with solution", in
1994 y 1996 respectively.. These two last works, have been distributed
among 15,000 people (patients, nurses, clinic assistants and doctors)
interested in increasing their knowledge on urinary incontinence.
Today we continue working
in new publications, with an only objective: To raise Spanish population
awareness of urinary incontinence, its social reach and to inform
about the solutions existing for this ailment.
