With regard to the Disabled, we are proud to be the company with the 9th highest number of handicapped employees from 200 companies surveyed (2004 Spanish Company Social Work Observatory). We have chosen to hire impaired people because we believe that being part of the work environment is the best way to break down barriers and offer dignity.
A special chapter corresponds to the Dr. Lafora Hospital Programme, a joint company-employee programme whereby our staff gives out Christmas presents wrapped by their families and the company provides the necessary gifts and infrastructure to reach the hospital’s patients.
As for the Elderly, we are also carrying out joint company-employee programmes, such as visiting retirement homes during working hours and spending time with old people, listening to them and sharing their concerns. We give the most precious thing we have: time.
In the case of Children, we make sanitary product donations. An example is the help given to the Malawi missions, through the Yamba Association and the Javier Oriol Foundation. Malawi is one of the smallest countries in Africa; with the precarious healthcare system there, life expectancy is 42. The centres we supply fight against child malnutrition.

In 2005, LABORATORIOS INDAS invested more than 1.3 million euros in sanitary and healthcare research, aimed at finding solutions to real problems faced by people in this area.
Our 2005 Corporate Social Responsibility activities included a new edition of the Christmas Greetings Competition for Grupo INDAS employees’ children, in the context of our “continuous motivation” corporate programme. The competition is expected to make children feel they are part of the Grupo INDAS team, so that their parents learn they belong with us.
We have also participated in Junior Achievement’s “Partners for a Day” educational programme, intended to foster the entrepreneurial spirit among the youth, so that they can accomplish their goals in a free but responsible environment. The programme brings 16- and 17-year-olds close to the business workplace. Our executives shared one day with them.
All these actions realise our motto of helping
make life better. |
